Levelofdetail Off Options?

I’m having issues with surfaces, that are within xrefs, disappearing after saving & closing the drawing down then reopening. It seems most times I open the drawing, I have to input LEVELOFDETAILOFF again and regen. Sometimes the in contour labels are also missing or are the only things showing. Is this how the command is supposed to work or is there a more permanent solution? It gets annoying to find the disappearance after the set has been plotted to a PDF. I recently upgraded to 2015 from 2010, so this setting is new to me. Thanks.

It seems that your drawing is losing connection with referenced file. See if you can lock the layer where labels and xref is.
Level of detail is fairly new setting that improves performance and it kind of work like Google Maps so as you zoom closer you can see more details. More bout it could be found here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/CIV3D/2015/ENU/?guid=GUID-F715FE3C-66CB-458B-848F-8743B2760F07

Our xrefs are typically on a lock layer and for a test, I locked the labels as well. I changed level of detail off, saved, closed and got back in and the surfaces are not visible. A Regenall is done and still no surfaces or labels are visible until after I enter LEVELOFDETAILOFF again. Zooming in and out doesn’t change anything before that command is done. I thought it might be a video card issue, but other coworkers with different setups are having the same issue.

As a workaround I'd add (command "LEVELOFDETAILOFF") to your acaddoc.lsp.
