Layout Tools Panel

When I switch to a layout there is a panel "Layout Tools" that grabs focuse. I've never had it before, anyone know where/how I turn it off?

Hi,

>> switch to a layout there is a panel "Layout Tools" [...] how I turn it off

to be found >>>here<<<.
But make sure that functions like north-arrow, legend , map assign (command _MAPINSERTPLE) are not as easy to be reached then.

You would need to remove this from your contextual ribbon tabs in the CUI editor.

It may not be shown in the Civil3D menu, but you will find it in the Autocad partial customization file. Look for the one (there are 2 entries in 2012's version) with  a + next to it, expand that then delete the one inside.

One more note. If you haven't already you may want to copy the default cui for customizing. Each time you apply a service pack or run a repair of the install the layout tools will reappear.
