Layout profile problem

My caddy deleted an important layout a few days ago and only told me at the end Friday. He had sesigned a profile with a few vertical curves so I am keen to find out if there is a quick way to get that back. The profile was for a roundabout outer perimeter

Maybe look for a .bak file or a.sav file that is a few days old and you may find it in there and export it out and import it into the new drawing

Good thought can I copy that layout and paste it into the drawing

If you copy paste a profile it will paste in an alignment at the same time. I am not sure if you can re-associate that profile but I wouldn't think so.

The copy/paste may also bring other things. Save first.

I want the alignment back too so I will test on Monday. Hopefully if I pick that alignment and do another layout it will pick up the design profile and the surface profile

Do you have any automated windows backups (if using NTFS) which will restore previous versions? This has worked for me on several occasions.

A bit of work has been done on the file so I am unwilling to go back to previous version and yes we do have a backup system

Can you do that for that particular layout, will it know to export the alignment too, do I select both and export. Looks like I will have a fun Monday morning

Looks like I can export the alignment to XML and it grabs the profiles too, cool
