Would anyone happen to know what the v stands for in the layer properties manager?  (ex. V-node)

National Cad Standards layer prefix for survey/mapping

The "V" is for "Survey" related items based on the National Cad Standards (NCS) disciplines.

I was once told that the V was for Verified as in not-proposed. But I have no proof of that.
