Autodesk had investigated the issue reported by several users, found the
cause, and posted a resolution. Did that resolution not work for you?

As you may have noticed from the KB article, this is a cache corruption
issue and you may have observed that simply logging in as a different
user might not have triggered the problem, even though you would have
been running Civil3D on the same system. This is why these kinds of
issues are called "bugs" 🙂

It's hard to say what fixed the issue in your case. Did you not change
_anything_ else on your system between the time that you saw the issue
(12/1/2005) and your response here (2/10/2006)?
