Layer Merge Bug?

Okay, so does the LAYMRG command in 2015 not work for anyone else? I have tried this at the command prompt, from the Layer Manager icon, and from right-clicking while in layers. Nothing whatsoever happens. No error message, no objects changing layers, no layers merging. Also, the command prompt dialog onscreen shows a small drop-down arrow where I assume layers can be selected, but it is impossible to select it as it moves away as the mouse moves. (Can't say I'm a fan of the new and "improved" Layer Manager, either!)

Is this a bug or am I just being lame??!

J,

Are you paying attention to the Command Line?

Yup! Everything looks like it should be working, but the objects aren't switching layers.

J,

Have you tried the other two choices in the command line prompts to test it:

  • Select object on layer to merge
  • Select object on target layer

J,

I just tried LAYMRG in 2015, and it works fine for me.

Your program is broken. Take it out back behind the chemical sheds and shoot it.

Have you run an AUDIT?

Ha! Yeah, believe me, I've thought about the "shed" option! But no, I haven't tried an AUDIT yet. Good idea-thanks

I would never save a drawing without first doing an AUDIT.

LAYMRG sometimes fails if any layers are locked, so try unlocking all of your layers first before consolodating the unwanted layers with others.

I would recommend that you set your current layer state first before doing so.

Please accept this as a solution if it works for you - Good luck!
