Label style based on extended data

Is there a way to label an entity based on its extended data in the properties dialog (aka notes)?

For some objects, yes. What objects would you like to label with extended data?

At this point just a line. I am just getting started with C3D so I am exploring my options.

Ah - I misunderstood. I was thinking user defined property classifications, not true extended data. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot convert that data into a label out of the box - I'm almost sure that you will have to find a custom routine to allow this. Perhaps someone will chime in who has done this before.

Well, after a weeks worth of description keys, I am  back to this issue with a new twist. Instead of using extended data, I am thinking that a line label with a text override may do the trick.

I want to leave the drag state as composed so that the label will stay aligned with the line. Now the leader tail becomes a problem. It loooks to me like the tail is always oriented horizontal.

Is there a way to orient the tail to align with the object?

The attached picture below shows the default behavior (top) and what I want it to look like (bottom, I exploded)
