Label Objects on individual layers

C3D 2012 Win 7 Pro

I have Note label Style objects and Marker Style Objects that have layers assigned to them.  When I bring a Note label or Marker Style into the drawing, it comes in on the zero layer.  I know that the object layers of the drawing settings are controlling this.  Is it possible to have the Note labels and/or Markers come in on the assigned layers of their Styles?  What settings(s) achieve this?

Thanks

I see that the Object layers for General Note Label and General Segment Label are set to C-ANNO

If I have a Note Style Object that is assigned a Layer of V-ANNO-UTIL-TEXT and assuming I set the General Note Label and General Segment Label to V-ANNO, per your example, will the labels come in on V-ANNO or the object assigned layer of  V-ANNO-UTIL-TEXT?

V-ANNO.

I need the notes to come in on V-ANNO-UTIL-TEXT, V-ANNO-SITE-TEXT, etc.? I have probably 60 Note Style objects that go to different layers. Any Ideas?

Change the layer to the layer you want them to go on in the drawing settings like I posted in the pic.  If you change the layer to V-ANNO-UTIL-TEXT, it will come in on that layer.

Do you mean to say that I have to change the object layers every time for each individual layer?  Is there no way to ONLY use the layers assigned to the Note Style Objects, bypassing the object layers themselves?

Not that I know of.
I posted that on the wish list, RIP.

Sinc pac has a function that will have your lables automaticaly come in on the current layer.

Thanks,
Dave

You can set your destination current, create the labels that you want on that layer, select them using Select Similar or Quick Select and then use Laycur to bring them on to the current layer.

Nice, but not what I want.

I want labels to come in on the layer specified in the label style.  I think the OP's request is similar.

I've just added this capability to Sincpac. It will be available in the next release, due out soon.

I'm looking forward to that.

Very nice.
What version of the software is this going to be in?

It will be in all currently supported versions (2010+). It is currently limited to the Note Labels only.

What about a routine for the marker styles as well?  The note label style and marker style would then be segregated onto individual layers.

Yes, I re-read your initial post this morning and saw that you had mentioned the markers. I will add those to the code. Now, these are only the markers associated with a Note Label, correct?

Yes, the markers associated with the Notes.

OK, after researching this, I don't see a normal method to do this. The Marker is actually a part of the NoteLabel and is not designed to be added to the drawing unconnected from a parent object.

The object layer in drawing settings is the base layer for all your notes (call it ob-note), Object > General Note Label. When you create your Note Label Style you can specify the layer (la-note-1) on the General tab. If you create a second Note Label Style you can change the layer (la-note-2) on the General tab. Turning off just la-note-1 turns off the first note and leaves the second note on. Turning off ob-note turns all of them off regardless of on/off freeze/thaw on the sub-layer. Same with the marker style - which can be a different layer and controled individually as well. One note can be controled by ob-text (for all), la-note-1 (for just the note on that style) and mk-note-1 (for just the marker on that style). Basically you need to create as many styles as you'd require layers - PITA. For C3D2012: Arrowheads (in B&D line labels) and leaders for drag state use the plot style for the object layer - so be mindful of not leaving it on 0 if you have 0/white set super thick.
