Issues with transparent hatch and DWG to pdf.pc3

When printing a transparent hatch using the dwg to pdf.pc3 supplied drier the plot preview looks good but the pdf produced is terrible.

If I use an alternative pdf driver (e.g. PrimoPDF) both the preview and the pdf honour the transparency.

Is the dwg to pdf.pc3 faulty??

I believe that the solution posted by Alfred in THIS thread may be applicable, as the output looks the same.

I've seen this thread but I don't believe it addresses my issue as I don't use Adobe Reader (my pdf viewer of choice is Foxit)

It's not clear what setting needs to be altered but it doesn't appear to be in the supplied pdf driver which is where I assume the problem lies.

Perhaps Alfred will respond and clarify??
