I'm confused with this message, I thought the wizard was supposed to make them even?

Try inserting PI's at the appropriate locations on each profile.
How did you create the profile?
In my experience, I've found that the best way to get the intersection tools to work is to develop the profile from PIs, not from free-hand tangents.
Also, did you try to continue with the command? I think if you do it will match the cl but the rest of the seconadry profile will need attention and do so is nothing an UNDO can't fix.

If I knew the appropriate place I would need the intersection wizard?

I drew a layout profile from the intersection to the end of the side road

Joe,
I've encountered this warning as well but I never took the time to figure out what to do about it.
I notice the warning says the profile entities have to be either a fixed tangent or free parabola. Can you verify that is what you have used in your layout profile at the intersection?

I confirmed it Neil, the tutorial drawing is a plain tangent

Is it one of the tutorial drawings included in the product? Knowing which one might help.
Neil
yes it is OOTB, but regardless, when you do an intersection do you use a fixed tangent on the side road?

And try and draw a fixed tangent and let me know how that goes for you

Low and behold: layout tangents are fixed tangents.
