Importing Coordinates & No point file format match found

I am tryiny to import coordinate file like I have so many times and the Select File box keeps telling me "No point file format match found".  I click the proper file format and it shows in the Preview box but the OK box will not go dark so I can clcik on it.   The file is a CSv and tried making it a txt with no luck.   Using 2012.

Ideas?

I've had this before - make sure you don't have an extra blank line at the end of the file.

Can you post the file for someone to look at??

Also make sure that you don't have file format filtering turned on.

No blank line.

file formatfiltering will not be on until I pick the file.  Then turns itself on.  Try selecting right format(PNEZD, comma deliminated) first but filtering still turns itself on.

Yes when you pick the file it turns on. You still should be able to turn it off. However if it says it can't match the file format after you select the file then It's finding something it's not expecting.

If you can't post the whole file maybe you could post the first and last 5 of 10 lines. That might give us a clue.

Finally figured it out.  One point had a name-not a number.  I've had this before and it gave me an error message but still imported the file.

Thxs. for your help.
