Import and Underlay PDF Files

Isn't this a super addition to the subscription program? I got the email the other day touting the ability to Import and Underlay PDF files as a pay-off for my investment in Subscription services. Oh wait... Autocad Subscription customers get this. AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite and AutoCAD Revit Structure Suite customers get this.

Civil 3D customers don't get this. So much for our investment. Makes Carlson or Eagle Point look a lot better.

Ok.. venting done. 🙂

Have a great holiday.

Insert/OLE object/pdf. However, the image usually looks like crap to me.

Merry Christmas!

Even when you can underlay you won't be able to edit, relayer, etc.

I guess my beef is that Autodesk has come up with a way to do this that is probably very good. Then they send me an email inviting me to use their better way. Then they tell me that Civil 3D Users can't have it.

Tends to tick one off a bit.

yep.
What they are teaching us is we git what we git, so don't buy subscription because they promise feature enhancements.
Worst possible time to be teaching that too.

Yeah, but if you don't buy subscription and you go to AU, you won't get that pretty ribbon on your name badge as well as the t-shirt! 😛

No one has ever accused Autodesk of being a good marketing company, nor of taking good care of Civil users. I guess that's why Inroads is still used in the majority of DOTs. (Not that Bentley can be accused of being a good marketing company either, but they do at least live up to their end of the bargain on their Select agreements).

lol and all that other internet chat-speak.

I know... .one should never, ever use the B word. I guess I'd really get in trouble if I said that Intergraph used to take awesome care of it's customers. 🙂
