hydrants and valves in profile views

Anyone have any insight as to add hydrants and valves in profile views?

We have a hydrant drawn in profile, insert it at the correct station and
elevation, then set the y-scaling in properties to the vertical
exaggeration. [e.g. all manual process]

So - does the hydrant get really 'stretched' looking depending on depth to the watermain???? or is it just a block on the surface?
I think I'd like to attach it to the watermain and surface.
Maybe it's not possible.

thank you for the response.

I have not taken the time to create this as a Multiview Block or as a Pipe
Structure. We don't usually even show it at all but if there is need
(usually in a section detail) then yes it is stretched in the vertical like
the rest of the section or profile. We currently use separate simple blocks
for the plan and profile views.

If you took the time (or when Autodesk finally gets around to it), you could
make a Pipe Structure that should attach to the surface for the base height
of the hydrant and extend down to a pipe depth below.

Sorry, not much help with this as I just have not had time to play with it!
