How To Uninstall Vault

Does anyone know how to uninstall Vault, I posted the question on partner support and got the response below from Steve M. I have tried this and still have vault even though I have chosen not to put it back on.

Beth,
Currently the only way that I saw to remove the Vault components from Civil 3D is to reinstall the product altogether. Using the Add/Remove functions seemed to create an error for me. Reinstall the product without the Vault option and go from there.

I just went to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, selected AutdeskVault,
clicked Remove, and that was it.....

Are you trying to uninstall Vault Server or the client? the distinction is
important.

who knows? 🙂

Beth and I both have vault just installed on our local machines because we
did it for bootcamp. Now, we can't get rid of it. we can't figure out how
to make it go away.

We also have a few clients who accidentally installed it when they put 2007
on their machines and didnt realize what it would take to set it up and want
to remove it until they are ready.

and we can't seem to find anything that takes us through the steps to get
rid of it.

I went through several uninstall/reinstalls while trying to get my machine
in order, and I still have it lingering....

Does anyone have a checklist of what needs to be wiped out?

So the same questions applies, what part of vault are you trying to get rid
of, server or the client side?

I would say both. Is there steps to follow for the server and the client or do you have to repeat the same steps?

Like Dana stated we have it from bootcamp but our clients that have it installed accidently would not know the difference in the two.

Client side should be pretty straight forward. Although I am not sure I
would even bother to be honest. Add/remove programs. Pull out the two as
noted in my screen grab.

Server Side
Uninstall the autodesk data management server.
*there might also be an entry for the autodesk web server, I dont remember
and I am currently using IIS.
There will also be an entrey for Microsoft SQl Server Desktop
Engine(*Autodesk) Or something similar. I am not running the MSDE I have
express edition, but it will be something similar. The uninstalls should go
in the order I specified them in.
There are probably some misc data directories etc that get left behind(like
you vault) you can go hunting.

Cool- thanks. I know it seems obvious.

Have you ever run into the situation where nothing related to vault appears
on the add/remove programs, but you know it is still there?

I think I need a drink.

Might I suggest a double?
This is turning out to be quite the roll-out.
I am dealing with a number of issues in house, I can't imagine what it's like from your end.

I am going to whip up some "Install-Mint" Juleps and grab a handful of
Valium Studded Fruit and Veggie Corridors.

And stop answering the phone.
