How to insert or move a part of profile ?

I have changed the horizontal aligment.

As there is not any auto-update tool (or I dont see) I need to displace the profile 123,46 meters from 1021.27 stattion.

Any idea on how to do this easily?

Thanks

Profile or profile view?
Surface profile or design profile?
What version are you working in?

If you were open to third party help for this: MoveProf was written specifically for this purpose.

I'm suspecting this is a layout profile...wish I had better methods...

1. Use the Panarama and just tab down the PVI sta and subtract values. Select the profile, right click and choose Edit Profile Geometry. Hit the Profile Grid View button and thePanorama opens for you to manually edit.

2. Copy the profile onto itself. Explode the copy (or trace a new pline on top of the profile), Move the profile block or pline to the new sta and grip edit the profile.

I just tested this: you can use the move command.  Put ortho on, move the profile, drag in the direction you need to go and type the amount, <enter>.

Not sure why no-one else suggested it, so maybe it is glitchy.  Not sure how it would work with corridors, intersections etc so I suggest saving a copy of your drawing first.

Thanks johnm

How ? Do you mean I have to manually edit every PVI ???????

What if I havea 20 kilometers layout with 300 PIV?

Another autodesk joke ? ufffff

Where is in this case the dynamic behaviour ?

Thanks

Troma. I need to move a piece, a part, a section , from-to, of a layout or design profile.

Thanks.

The move command does not work for me in 2012. 😞

Interesting. I didn't test it in my 2011. And I only tested a tiny 'test' profile in 2013.

Perhaps the quickest option for you is to select the profile, shift + select all the PVIs and then drag them as needed. Either that or get the sincpac software that Jeff linked to.

Yeah looks like a 2013 feature. Just tried again in both. If you execute the move command and select the profile it moves the whole thing but it's not working with grip edits. So for the OP the question of manual editing comes down to the version.

Nope, I can't. Sorry, it doesn't work. That's what I get for posting without testing.
