Prospector tab

expand surfaces

expand surfaces 1

expand edits

paste surface 2 into surface 1

or make a new surface and paste both surfaces into it.

If the 2 surfaces are really far apart, linework may be added in between that you do not want. These lines can be deleted or hidden.

If you paste the second surface into the first, the
DTM engine will make triangles between the edges of each one for
you.

Be warned that if you erase any of the surfaces you used for the paste operation, your new surface will fail. The pasted surface still looks at the original surface kind of like an internal xref if you will.

You get rid of the internal xref, your surface is no longer reporting on it. gone.

Unless you make a snapshot. But then, I'm not a big fan of snapshots.
