How do you rotate and move points?

I have 2 sets of points in my drawing that come from 2 separate point files. 1 set of points needs moved and the other set of points needs rotated. How can I change the rotation and Northing and Easting for multiple points?

Rotate points using the AutoCAD "ROTATE" command. Yes, it's that simple.

Moving points are the same. AutoCAD "Move" command, pick base point,
pick destination point. Again, yes, it's that simple.

There is no current way to do a "North Rotation" as you did in Land
Desktop.

Wow, you mean there are no hoops to jump through? Nothing to cause hair loss, teeth grinding or ulcers? Glad to see that there is something in Civil 3D that is easy. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me, lol.

Just be careful... Its also that easy to change the elevations (even if you
did not intend too.) I usually use zero elevation reference lines to go
from one place to another.

To rotate a certain range of points, create a point group for the range and selectsimilar the point group. When you create a point group it is the first displayed until you change it's display order in point group properties!

I'm having the same problem, but rotate isn't doing anything. I have a road sign point group and the point style looks like a sign but I can't orient it with the road. I try rotate and it just highlights but doesn't rotate! In the old days description keys would put a block on the point now it seems we have to define the point style with the block. This seems dangerous to me, I almost deleted a point thinking it was sign block. Is there a way to lock points and is that why I can't rotate?

If you just want to rotate the block (but have the point stay in the same
location), go to toolspace and enter the block rotation under the rotation
column for that point.

Thanks but I've tried that. It does work, after about 45 seconds (way too long if you have more than one) and you have to know the rotation. I thought I did, this was an LDD drawing and had a sign block with a listed rotation of 125. I put 125 in panorama but they didn't match. What the...?!

there are more things that work.... the style maybe be dictating part of the
rotation. can you post a capture of your point style that contains the
style? the tab that talks about which block to pick, etc.

I've already played with the marker rotation angle, but I don't want to globally change the angle of all signs. Defineately more than one setting at work.

true enough. I was mostly looking to make sure you had "object" choosen
instead of view or world.

there are other ways to mark things if you can't get the point to make you
happy.
