Help! File save time is taking years

Can someone tell me why it's taking so long to save a file.  I can't attach the file, its too large.

Thanks

That's a very loaded question without any specific information re:

  • Software Version?
  • Locally, on a Network or both?
  • What is the file size?
  • What type of data is in this file?
  • Has the file always saved slow or just recently?

  • What is the file size? 12mb
  • What type of data is in this file? Surface, points, align, pipe network, profiles
  • Has the file always saved slow or just recently?  recently

The first thing I'd try is cleaning out your Windows Temp folder if you haven't done so.

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\

Close applications & delete everything it will allow, Launch c3d & test save.

Does the 12 mb file size seem normal when compared to other similar projects?

I tried wblocking (to scrub the header) your drawing and got an error that there are proxy object and the wblock is rejected. what do you have in there that isn't native to civil3d?

I'm unsure. The file had some arch blocks inserted in it. I deleted
everything I could and purged the dwg, but didn't help.
