Hardware for Land Desktop 2006

Hello

My company is upgrading to Land Desktop 2006 and I was wondering if anyone
could provide me with the hardware recommendations for running LandDesktop
2006 with Civil and Survey, being an HP shop we are considering the
following model , please let me know if this would be good scalable solution
(at least for 3 yrs) or we need to to get something more powerful and if so
what would you recommend
HP xw4300
3.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4
1GB DDR2-533 ECC
160 GB SATA 300
DVD-CDRW Combo
ATI FIreGL V5100 128MB PCI-E

Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
Thanks
Ann

More power is always good, but that setup is sufficient. However, I
prefer AMD Athlon 64's over Pentiums for AutoCAD. I also have had
better results with Nvidia Quadro cards over ATI FireGL in AutoCAD apps.
Also, the newer, faster RPM (10,000) hard drives are worth the
investment. My $0.02.

My current machine:
AMD 64 X2 3800+
Abit AN8 Ultra Nforce4 mobo
Corsair 2GB DDR3200 (2x1GB)
PNY Nvidia Quadro FX1300
Enermax 485W PSU

Good luck!
WD 74G 10000 RPM SATA

Thank you for the suggestion CJ based on the suggestions I am considering another model
Here are the specs
Intel Pentium 4 650 - 3.4GHz 64-Bit Processor,
2 GB DDR2 533MHz ECC SDRAM,
160GT SATA-300 Hard Drive,
NVidia Quadro FX540 - 128MB PCIE - is this good enough?

Most the data is stored and will be accessed from the server I checked with our HP vendor and he thinks this is good enough. Have you faced any challenges with running LandDesk 2006 on 64bit machines?

Thanks
Sabina

I should clarify that I am still running WinXP Professional 32-bit. The
AMD platforms (ones that use Athlon 64/FX/X2) are compatible with 32-bit
and 64-bit OS's and applications. I am not very familiar with how the
Pentium CPU's are spec'd, but if that system comes with XP Pro 32-bit,
then it is a similar situation. Based on other forums that I have read,
I would stay away from 64-bit XP due to lack of hardware support
(drivers), although I have no experience with the OS myself.

Other than that, the system is appears fine. The FX540 only has one DVI
output (if that matters). I would get a quote on a similar machine but
based on the AMD platform (Athlon 64 or 64X2). In my opinion, it is a
better platform.

I have the benefit of building our workstations, so I can pick each
component.
