GRADING

Is it necessary to create a site in order to create
breaklines? Is there a seperate 3dpoly command specifically for C3D or is this
just the generic command?

Short Answer is no... Breaklines can be 2d polylines or 3d Polylines or Features lines which are Civil 3D Objects and can come from Parcel Segments and/or Survey figures.

Surfaces do not belong to any one site so therefore breaklines are also not tied to a site.

3D Polyline is an AutoCAD Command, it can be turned into a Feature Line which is specific to Civil 3D, doing this enhances the capabilities of the 3D Polyline. However they can all be used as Breaklines to help define a surface.

Be careful, as you are combining two things that
are not at all related.

Breaklines can be all sorts of objects - polylines,
3dpolylines, arcs, lines, featurelines (<whiz-bang C3D object).  Only
the featurelines have anything to do with sites.

I did and it really is not that dark ha-ha. In
an earlier post I did indicate that this is a project that came back online
from April and fumbling through what I really never learned in the past
year 🙂
