Grading question of the day... little help please

So I have a question... hope you have an answer.

Please see the attached image as it is probably the most clear way to show what I am looking for.

I am not sure how to tell the feature line to stop grading at the red line?

Draw a feature line on the red line, and use the "Adjacent Elevations by Reference" command. Think that's what I'd do. You'll have to be careful with the start and end points, and you'll have to repeat the command if the elevations of the first line change.

Other options would include the use of a corridor.

That was the best fast response ever! I did not know there was a way to do that.  I will have to write that down in my little book.

This is about what I was looking for. By keeping the ends of both lines at the same X, the points were almost all perpendicular to the red line, so not too bad. I wonder how it chooses where to place the elevations?

The command text that I found in Civil 3D 2013 is as follows:

ADJACENTFEATUREELEVSBYREF

THANK YOU! Smiley Happy

You're welcome. I'm just passing along stuff that I've learned from this forum.
May I also say, what a nice way to illustrate your question. Very clear to understand.
