grading issues

anyone seen instabilities with the grading tools? i am running C3D 2010 SP2, win7 64bit, 8GB RAM; am trying to create a dynamci FL from a profile, then use grade to a surface at 0% grade (trick it with 0.00001%). it has been crashing incessantly. the existing surf is DS, current file size is small (800 kb). anyone has any suggestions?

Yes - I've found the grading object to be a bit "buggy" on accasions

Can you grade successfuly at steeper slopes say 5%??

I have avoided using the grading tools since the initial release.

I came across to same instabillity but I've noticed that most of the times it helps if you post-process the original FL to simplify it (weed and fit curves).

If you search the forums you will find MANY complaints about grading issues. It has been an achilles heal for C3D since the beginning and won't likely go away for a while based on the history of the problem. In fact the instability problems with grading are a major reason why we have not been using C3D even through 2011.
