You did not specify your version and release, so here is my take. Feature
lines are still in puberty. You probably could have outlined your pond with
polylines and offset and set elevations for your pond in the time you wrote
this request. Use the polylines with elevations and make them breaklines
and you are done.

To begin, I am a Civil 3D rookie at best.
I am trying to grade out a small pond which is irregularly shaped. I am
using feature lines to do this. The pond has numerous grade break in it.
It looks like this (sorry no picture):
1. Top of pond is above existing ground. I run at a 5:1 slope outward of
this feature line to catch the existing ground. No problem.
2. From top of pond inward, I run at a 10:1 slope for 10 feet to the next
feature line grade break, which is at a slope of 5:1. No problem.
3. From the 5:1 grade break inward, I run at the slope of 5:1 for 15 feet
to another grade break which is at a slope of 3:1. No problem.
4. From the 3:1 grade break, I run at 3:1 to the bottom of the pond. This
doesn't work, and I feel that I understand why, however, does anyone know
how to go about doing this?
I have tried to do the grading using the Relative Elevation @ Slope option
at 1' increments and this still won't work. I'm thinking of making the
exterior of the pond and the high water mark irregular as the owner wishes,
but trying to put a more uniform shape in for the underwater portions.
However, I can see problems in exceeding a 2:1 slope in here when
transitioning to the more regular shaped feature lines. Our county won't
allow slopes in excess of 2:1.
Any help would be aprreciated.
