Google Earth - No Such Interface Supported Message

HI,

Google earth image import has always worked well for us in 2010 but since updating to 2012 we have not been able to import a google image.  We get the following error message

Error Message:  No such interface supported

Error Number:  0x80004002

Description:

Source:

Input GUID:  {11957e8f-b520-4681-8113-024ec7f8d84c}

Error GUID:  {0000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google Earth to no prevail.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I cannot replicate your trouble, however:

  1. ensure that GE is in a tiltless view

  2. ensure that you provided a suitable CRS in Autocad, by means of the _ADESETCRDSYS command

  3. try the _IMPORTGEIMAGE command

I'm assuming you have the GE extension for Civil 3D installed, have you tried reinstalling it?

I have no Civil, but I guess it doesn't matter, 'cause the IMPORTGExxxx commands should be natively embedded in C3D<2013, madame.

I have been having the same issue...although with us, we upgraded our computers (and have been using successfully with C3D 2012 prior) and after the upgrade it no longer worked...We haven't figured it out yet.

I've seen this a few times.  It seems that each C3d install is linked to a specific GE install.  When you upgrade or change versions your registry isn't updated properly and the link between the programs is broken somehow.  It's been a while but if I recall correctly you have to uninstall GE, then clean out all traces of it from the registry before reinstalling again.

If you now have Civil 2013 or newer, the Google Earth interface is dismissed, sir.

That is not the case.  We are still on C3D 2012.  The only difference is the computer was replaced and the same version re-installed.  The funtionality is still working on other machines that have not been replaced.  The only difference is the OS (XP vs Win7)

In my case the problem is solved by reinstalling old version of Google Earth.

Using following link.

I am Using Autocad Civil 3D 2012.

bye

Perhaps because Autodesk now uses Bing and not Google Earth.
