Ghost navigation bar in prints

A user and I both have our Navigation Bars showing up on our prints occasionally. See attached image. Whether we print to pdf or directly to a printer it just randomly shows up.  The solution is to turn them off, and since we don't really use them it's no big deal. But I'm curious why this is happening and if it happens to anyone else. It also happens with the View Cube.  They will show up in different parts of the drawing. I've not seen a pattern as of yet. It's happening in both Civil 3D 2013 and Civil 3D 2014.

Yes, search the "discussions" for NAVBAR and there are many threads discussing this very topic.

Recurring issue, inherited from the core AutoCAD system.

Adopt. Adapt. Overcome. Or be overcome.
A good question will be halfway to a good answer.

Yeah, I did a search on Navigation bar and View Cube before posting but only found a couple of things. Neither had a real solution other than turning the NAVBAR off. Guess we'll just turn 'em off for now. We don't really use them anyway.
