generic subassembly point coding best practices

what are the best practices for coding these subassemblies do you use L1 and R1 to seperate the left from right or do you keep both sides the same code. where is there a good tutorial on this?

Typically keep the same code because Subassmblies have a "Side" parameter so that you can use the Subassembly on both sides of your Corridor.
