Finished Grade Profile

I have started my first project using C3D. I was able to set up an existing profile for an alignment, but have not figured out how to bring in the FG profile. I have a corridor set up, but I think it is using the existing surface for its elevations. In LDT you could create a FG profile and then add PVI's, but I don't know how to do this in C3D.

Go to the Profile pulldown and use "Create by layout". This will allow you
to create an FG profile which you can associate with your corridor.

Profile>Create by layout to create a fg profile

If you have a corridor built then you must have already created a fg
profile. Unless your corridor was sampled off something other than fg.

I would suggest you run through the tutorials prior to starting to use this
product if you have not already.

I would recommend you work through the tutorials found in the Help menu.
There is one entitled "Using Layout Profiles." The first line of the
tutorial reads, "These exercises show you how to create and edit layout
profiles, which are often called design profiles or finished grade
profiles."

I would also recommend viewing the recorded Civil 3D Webcasts found at:
http://tinyurl.com/3duor

Further, I would recommend reading the "Civil 3D 2006 Getting Started
Guide:"
http://tinyurl.com/a8mm6

Unfortunately, it would very difficult to teach FG profiles in this forum.
