Figure Prefix - Wildcards?

I just setup my figure prefix library in Civil 3D 2007. I had edited it directly through MS-Access. When I view them through the Survey Toolspace and click on one of my prefixes with an " * " wildcard, the PC beeps at me and changes it to a " _ " character. For example, I want to use "EP*" as my prefix, but C3D wants to rename it "EP_".

Does anyone know if it's possible to use wildcards with Figure Prefixes?

Hi Todd,

I'm not sure about Civil 3D, but in Land Desktop/Survey the figure prefix
was simply that - a prefix.

Hence a wild card is implied and your attempt to add the * implies to the
system that the prefix is EP* rather than EP which is what you want.
