Feature Line Elevations

We are running Civil3d 2012. When converting a line or 3d poly to feature line, or just creating one it adds elevation points where it crosses surface breaklines even if you do not assign elevations. We want the feature to just have 2 elevations. The beginning and end. Is this a bug? Or is there another setting somewhere?

Exactly what steps are you doing to create the featuelines?

Tried several ways. First attempt was having a line with the elevations set where wanted. Them going to Create feature lines from objects. No conversion options checked. Most previous drawings that's been fine. Not this one. Then we tried drawing the feature line over where that one was typing the elevations on just those 2 points. Still added intermediates. Tried audit, purge restart just to be sure. Still adds unwanted and unspecified elevation points.

Make sure to place the Featurlines in a different Site than than Surface breaklines. Featurelines in the same site interact with each other, those in different sites do not.

You are having site issues. Never put two things in the same site unless you intentionally want them to interact with each other. Your breaklines for your surface are probably featurelines and the new featurline you are creating is in the same site as your breaklines. Put them in different sites.

HERE is a little bit more information.

It was the Site selection. Thanks very much.
