Fatal Error when Opening a dwg

Hi Everyone.  We have just made the transition from Land Desktop 2009 to Civil3D 2014 and there are still many unknowns for us.  One of them came up today.  When I attempt to open a dwg in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 - just as it finishes loading - I receive this error:

AutoCAD Error Abording

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled e0434352h Exception at fd8940dh.

I am able to open other drawings, this particular dwg crashes everytime.  When I run a recover on the drawing no errors are found and then the error prompts.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit with 16 GB RAM.  Can anyone advise?

If this drawing has XREFs attached, open them up and save to C3D 2014 first.

Thanks for your response Bill.  There are no XREF's attached in the drawing.  Could this problem arise from lack of permissions?  We have a computer on the network with full permissions that has no error when opening the drawing.  What might this indicate?

Use RECOVER command to open and fix theses files.
OR
try to INSERT each into a working template file.
OR
Post one of these files here for others to try.
