Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation....64a7d4bfh

While rebuilding a surface (which updates the surface) the
program freezes with "Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation
0x0008 Exception at 64a7d4bfh" - any ideas why?"

It would also be very helpful to know version and service pack.

Had the operator done an AUDIT on the drawing? (The person doing this work
should be posting here, if it all possible, in my opinion. At the very
least, they should be present reading these messages and formulating the
replies.)

How large is the drawing? What types of objects were used as breaklines for
the surface data input?

As for the issue: Have you AUDITed the drawing? What data is being used in
the surface?

I have since posted to Civil 3D but th operator said that he was inputting
break lines, boundary and point groups

There were several other questions I had asked. It is very difficult to try
helping you without having more information.

well how about the same problem with the B.51.0 version pack and 0 service pack.

the drawing is a 3 to 4 mega bit drawing

and basic lines were used for breaklines

i have used an audit but the error message still appeared after rebuilding the surface

If I may suggest some fundamental trouble shooting methods:

Start a new drawing and copy the surface in via the clipboard or via XML or
some other method and see if the problem persists. Then you can determine if
the error is in the drawing file or the surface definition. Try it on more
than one machine to ensure it is not a configuration issue.

After that, try incrementally removing components from the definition (or
remove all and then incrementally add) to see if you can narrow it down to
specific components.

Please be sure to submit a CER with any additional details you can

is the surface referenced from another drawing, via Data Shortcuts or Vault?

Please contact Mike Kohl, Tech Eng directly for this issue.

His email is mikek@veg-sarv.com. I had originally passed on the info for him but was criticized for not being the user so turned it over directly to him

I have this problem occuring all time. It's not the polyline boundary
definition (the actual polyline information), I think it just a problem
incorporating the complex entity that is the polyline into the surface
object. I found the only way to fix this is to delete the suface and start
over, using the same boundary!
