Fatal Error Opening files

Our office uses standard AutoCAD 2006. I use LDD2005 and Civil 3D 2006. Just recently, I received files created with AutoCAD2006 that I could not open with C3D (get fatal error). I could however, open those files with LDD2005. Any suggestions?

I have had problems going from

C3D>Acad>C3D>LDT

back and forth and back and forth and so on.

What I would do is make a decision on where you will open the drawing for good.

Open it in the program that works.

Audit purge audit etc.

Wblock out everything in the drawing.

Open the wblock you made and audit/purge/etc

in Civil 3D
File>New
Choose your template
Insert your clean wblock
Never look back

Thank you for your advice. This is a disturbing "NEW" phenomenon that has just started happening. I cannot copy and paste items out of hundreds of contract documents.
