Fatal Error 0x0150 Civil 3D 2014

Hello everyone,

I have a big problem at work. We made a drawing in Civil 3D 2012 for a project. Our ICT made the upgrade to Civil 3D 2014 and now I can't open the drawing anymore. When I try to open it, I get a pop-up containing " Fatal Error: Unhandeld Acces Violation Reading 0x0150 exception at d75451d4h". The exception changes everytime I try to open it, but the error code stays the same.

I tried the following ways to fix this:

Reset AutoCAD to default

Recover drawing

audit in the 2012 version

uninstall and install .NET framework

Install latest service-pack

Change compatibility

Repair registers

Clean Graphics Cache

Delete registers

DEP change

Rebuild user profile (windows profile)

Turn off Hardware acceleration

Re-install total 2014 version

Update PCI

Use CHKDSK and clear %Temp%

All of these options didn't solve my problem. Does anyone know how to fix this? Unfortunately the drawing is too large to attach to this post.

with regards,

Jorden

Welcome to the Forums!

If this happens in one isolated problem drawing, make a copy of the drawing first & then try the suggestions in this Being Civil post.

If none of that helps, upload the file to Dropbox or a similar file sharing site and post a link to file here.

Thanks for your quick response Jay.

I tried your suggestions, but it didn't help. This is the link to the drawing.

Well that link worked but I get the same crash / error and am unable to open the file in 2014.

I can open it fine in 2012, and get a "This dwg was created using an Educational product......"

message.

One more suggestion is to Audit / Recover every Xref attached to the dwg if you haven't done so.

Does anyone have any suggestions what I can try for this problem? I asked some of my collegues if they have the same problems and they do have this problem, but no solution.

Hello everyone,

I found the solution to my problem. When I tried to save the drawing in a early version, it still crashed. But when I used the command "-EXPORTTOAUTOCAD" and saved it in 2010 version, the fatal error didn't occur. I post the solution here, so if other people have this problem, they can find it.

Everyone thanks for your time and effort.

Jorden
