Export to Autocad DWG not working

Hi

I am having a problem with one of our draweings, when I select Export > Autocad DWG 2010, nothing happens.  I have tried opening another Civil 3D drawing, and it works fine.  I can see the command on the command line, but no error or anything after it, just does not do anything.

Any ideas?

Thank Martin

There is a simple tried and tested fix for this one.

Step 1. Select all Civil3d Tables, run explode.

Step 2. Select everything else and explode and explode again.

Step 3. Run Save then undo / close without saving.

Works everytime for me.

Not working for me in 2012 right now. No error messages but it doesn't produce a file.

What i fouund when i had this problem is the base drawing that i was using was too large (a small city base covering a large area). When i reduced it to just the area my drawings covered the export worked fine.

  • If you may have any unsaved changes, save the drawing (for example Drawing1.dwg)
  • then save it with another name (for example Drawing1_Exported.dwg)
  • then run AECOBJEXPLODE command

Works for me even on bigger models where  EXPORTTOAUTOCAD is helpless.

Another workaround I've had some success with is:

turn on all layers

zoom extents

copybase [insertion point] 0,0 [select entities] select all

make new blank drawing

paste {insert point] 0,0

Then EXPORTTOAUTOCAD from new drawing.
