export cross section data?

I am using Civil3D 2010. I am trying to export the offset/elevation data from my cross sections to a text file or excel file so i can paste the info into another program. so far i've been labeling the offset/elevation info on the section and typing it into excel by hand. Any suggestions?

cross seciton is base on the surface. since  the data you will get when you extract the cross section is bsae on the original surfac.

One solution I can think is you make a new surface.

first, you put points every 10 meters from the center alingment extending out left and right of sample line.

second group you points and make a new surface out of the new point data.

then use the new surface to creat your cross section.

by doing so you will get the desire value ever sectin when you export the data.

hope this help you...

cheers

I'm not sure how to get the data in exactly 10m intervals.  But to export the data first create your cross section.  Select the cross section (the section itself, not the grid).  Right click and choose 'edit section'.  This will bring up a window with your section data.  Right click in the window and select 'copy all'.  You can then paste this data into excel.  Good luck.
