export alignment table to excel/csv

Hello

I have created an alignment elements table with lines, radius, lengths etc (Alignments > Add tables > Add segments). Now I need a way to export that information to csv / Excel for further work. Does anyone know a way to do this?

I am using c3d 2009.

Hi,

I don't think there's a way to export the segment table out to csv.

All info in the table however can also be viewed in grid view in the
Alignment Layout Tools. Select the alignment>Edit geometry>click the
third button from the left. This will open the panorama window with all
elements of the alignment. Right click any of the table headers and
check the elements you need to show. Then go down the bottom of the
list and click Copy all. This can then be pasted onto Excel. Please
see attached.

Hope that helps.

Harold,

Thanks for your quick reply, and good explanation. Your method does the trick, with one (for me) important limitation. From what I can see, I get all the information except the element tag. The tag is the only link between the table and the drawing, and I need it to be able to communicate what elements I am referring to (se attachment for illustration).

If anyone knows a way to extract this data, I would be very happy. (The task involves 4.5km of alignments, so any manual operation is not wanted)

Edit: Also, for some reason the panorama does not include detached parts of the alignment... but the alignment table does. Which I need. Edited by: EneboBj%C3%B8rnAmund4192 on Nov 15, 2009 9:50 PM

Hi,

You have a script that extracts the data in the elements table? Is this something you'd be interrested in sharing? I would break my neck trying to do this in vb myself, so the alternative is to contact my software company and have them make something.

Got it to work with Civil3D 2011, not sure if this is even still an issue.

Select your alignment that you wish to export.  Under the toolbar select Geometry Editor a new toolbar will open select Alignment Grid View.  Right click on the top line, copy all.  Then just paste this into your excel spreadsheet.  Hope this is helpful for anyone who is still looking for a solution to this problem.
