EULA & subscription questions

My EULA indicates that I can install the sofware on a desktop and laptop. I have installed on the desktop, retrieved a request code and have activated but the desktop is brand new with a OS problem (which surfaced after all softwares were installed). I am and was MAD!!!! I own a land surveying firm for which I am solo and the pain of putting all of the software(s) back on was/is laborious. Another one's being shipped as we speak. I have not installed on a laptop yet but want to. I have a general question before I proceed.
The request and activation codes are generated per computer name? In other words, once I receive the new computer, rename it to the original one, install Civil 3D will it retrieve the same request code or do I have to go through the subscription site? I have a piece of surveying software that it uses the computer name to generate the request code much like Autodesk. I also want to know before proceeding on the laptop if there is a limit to requests made on the site? Nothing illegal here just want to know. I do not want to screw up and go through the pain of Autodesk support if I do not have to. I will be contacting my vendor and ask them Monday.
Thanks,

No need to call Autodesk support *or* your vendor. Just install and
activate. The online activation should go off without a hitch. Once
you install it on the laptop, if you have any problems whatsoever activating
the program, you will have to call the Autodesk business center at
800-551-1490. Be prepared with the activation request code and an email
address handy - if they question you (which is highly unlikely) tell them
what happened, and shouldn't be a problem.

The activation code has zero to do with your computer's name. The
activation is tied to the MAC address and the signature of certain other
pieces of hardware (I want to think there are 5, but Matt Stachoni isn't
around to verify.) Since you're in essence changing out each piece (new
computer and all) the software will definitely have to be activated again.

Mark,
The license file is linked to the MAC address of the hard drive so even
naming the new computer with the same name requires a new activation code.
As long as you are connected to the internet when you install you should be
able to activate the new install with out personally contacting anyone. The
same thing when you get ready to install to the laptop, if during the
activation it wants you to contact the authorization center (Autodesk) you
can E-mail them with the info along with the explanation that you wrote here
and usually with-in a few minutes they will email you back with the
activation code.
