Error on opening a drawing

I am getting a error when I open a specific drawing

FATAL ERROR: unhandled e06d7363h Exception at fel14940.

any idea what this is. I have tried to recover the drawing (message says error were found and then I get the same error)

tried the back up file ...no go

tried a back up file from 2 weeks prior, same result.

Have tried inserting as a block to a new drawing... same error.

any assistant would be greatly appreciated, this was a 95% complete project and the engineer is looking pale.

thank you in advance

Erin

If there are any Xrefs in play Run an Audit or Recover on ALL of those files.

Sometimes the file causing the crash can be an Xref.

Thank you.

I've tried a recover and still now success. However it will open on someone else's computer, so not sure what is up with that?

Is that other computer the same OS and hardware specs?

Which OS?

If you create a new user on the PC the file crashed on and it opens then you may have a corrupt acad profile. A repair and/or a new acad profile may fix it. If the file crashes with the new user you may have hardware/driver issues. Try updating Windoz and your drivers.

Also, If you don't regularly clean out you Temp folder give that a shot.

Win 7 default location is: C:\Users\brubble\AppData\Local\Temp\

Close Acad & delete everything it will let you delete here.

it turned out to be a missing .dll file. Something in microsoft was overwriting the file. Not sure why it was just that one drawing. Very odd.

thank you all for your suggestions

How did you fix the problem with the missing .dll file?  I am having the same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
