Good morning and thank you for your help.
I created a sheet set with custom fields for a project I am working on.
The issue I have is that all the empty fields get show 4 dashed lines instead of nothing. I dont want anything to show if it doesn't have any information. The custom field is "LATEST REV" and if it is empty, it should not show anything in the revision triangle shown below. But 4 dahses always show up. This happens in other custom fields too. What causes this and is there a way to fix this?
Thank you for all your help.

2015 and we are still dealing with this.... ~sigh~
C'mon #Autodesk....
In the SSM, where you want a "blank" to be, type in "ALT+0160".
When AutoCAD renders the field, the "----" will no longer be there.

Spaces work in the SSM until the sheet set is closed and reopened. Then the spaces are removed and you will see "----" as the entries are now blank. As mentioned above a non-breaking space (Alt+0160) will not be removed by the SSM.
It's normal for the lines dashed apear for Plot field... complete the plot and, they ll show on your pdf or paper.
I had the same problem and can confirm that typing "%%" worked great! Typing "%%" in the custom fields in Project/Layout properties resulted in blank fields on the Layout space. However, typing "Alt+0160" did NOT work on the Mac edition of AutoCAD 2018.
Using %% works if you are just doing the drawing
if you want to "insert sheet list table" %% does not work it ends up with dashes again.
"alt 0160 " allows you to create a table without dashes
You actually have to use the following sequence:
-IN SHEET SET MANAGER, RIGHT CLICK ON SHEET, SELECT PROPERTIES
-LEFT CLICK INTO PROPERTY THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP BLANK
-PUSH AND HOLD "ALT" KEY
-TYPE "0160" THEN HIT ENTER
-LEFT CLICK ON OK
Please note that typing the letters "A", "L", "T" and then typing the "+" symbol doesn't work.

hahahahahahahaaaa

I used to love that workaround with the "ALT+0160" to enter a blank space but seems like it's not supported anyomore ...
Ok i was actually assuming the custom propertie and did a typo in it
Now it simply just doesnt keep a field in the block attributes
Is it possible that Autodesk changed the behavior in that ?
I'm still using it [alt+0160] with AutoCAD 2022 and Vault 2022 to keep fields from displaying "####". It works fine in my applications.
