Edit Point Descriptions

Please see attachment. The first screen capture shows the settings for point creation. The second screen capture shows the exported point text file. By default C3D gives the description "ALIGNMENT PROP - 0+000.00". We would like to be able to change this default description to our standard "10 0+000 C/L". Is there a way to change this default description in C3D?

Please see attachment. In the "Create Points" dialogue box I have the "Prompt for Elevations" set to "none". However, if you scroll down you will see the result when I export the points.....highlighted in red are elevations? Do you know why it is exporting elevations when I set the "Prompt for Elevations" set to "none"?

I believe that happens as the intended behavior in C3D12, I believe that changed in version 13. So if you setting points on a line (object) with elevation it would not override that.

Yes, it seems sporadic. Sometimes when I set the elevations to "none", it spits out -99999 as the elevation? Another of C3D's hundreds of glitches!

If you don't want the elevations in the output, why not create/use a Point File Format that excludes the elevations?

The -99999 you see is the default 'invaild elevation' value in the Point File Format you selected for the output and is used when the point has no elevation assigned.

Prompt for Elevation in the Create Points dialog box controls whether you are prompted for and elevation when creating points. The Point File Format used when exporting is what controls what appears in the export file. Create or use a File Format that does not call for elevations. IOW a PNED file format.
