Re: DS project description

It is a very nice blog, but I am either too dense or too stupid to understand it. I do not have a shortcuthistory.xml file in the places discussed. I'm thinking it should be on the server somewhere, how else would other read it?

Thank you

Sure you do, Joe. It is not saved to the server becuase it is a per-user cache. In the address bar of Windows Explorer, type in %APPDATA% and hit enter, it will take you to YOUR profile's Appdata roaming folder, browse down to the folder shown. It should be noted that each version of C3D keeps it's own cache as well.

Oops, now I see you said shortcuthistory.xml. This is in the actual project shortcut folder which may be on the server:

I searched our server for short*.xml and nothing came up?

Thank you

Joe, when in C3D and you have a Project 'live' from which you can create Data References, what does it say next to Data Shortcuts in Prospector? The path you find there is where you need to be looking.

I get it now - one ShortCutHistory.xml per project.

Its really quite simple once you understand it :smileyvery-happy:
