Drawing Units

I received a drawing and it was in feet. I did not know this, I assumed it was in metres and worked with it. Upon realizing my error I tried to change the units from feet to inches while allowing the distances I have used, their quantity, to remain the same. Thus a distance of 20 while working in feet is still 20 when converted to metres. Unfortunately now my road chainages have been changed. The chainages are 20 metres apart like I want but the corresponding value is stated in feet. So chainage 0+20 is now 0+65.62. HELP?!!

Did you try copying everything from the origional file into a blank drawing that had been set up with the proper units? That might work.
