Dragging orientation

I have some parcel lines labeled with bearings and distances, etc. Some labels I have dragged out to form a leader back to the line that they correspond with. They display perfectly in model space; however when I move to the layout that I have created that has a rotated view the labels that have been dragged either don't rotate to horizontal or don't display at all (disappear). Any suggestions?

That was the main reason for SP 1A in 2007. You did not give your version.

Is your Label Style set to "View" in the Orientation Reference field under Behaviour in the General tab? Might be what you're after...

Hope that helps,
Trevor

sorry. i had to sleep, eat and use the bathroom. forgive me!

Check your label style. By default, many line labels are object oriented as
opposed to view oriented, since most folks like their bearings to hug the
line as opposed to rotating with the view. you can change it. label style
composer dialog box general tab.

Well...actually I want the labels to align with the property line when there is enough room. My problem is when I drag the labels away from the line (to form a leader) the label then is supposed to rotate to horizontal. In Model space this isn't a problem. It's when I switch to paper space that the labels disappear. They are there in model space, yet when I go to any layout some of them are just gone.

For future reference I think I have finally figured out what makes some disappear and not others. The ones that disappear have a "Flip" value of "true". When I set them back to "false" they reappear. I still haven't figured out how to get them to rotate to my view. I am spending a lot of time re-doing this plat because of these problems.
