digitizing legal descriptions: curves with direction

i am trying to enter in a legal description with bearings. everything works correctly until i get to a radius. i am using the 'curve from end of object' function. the data we have is the radius, arc length, chord length and bearing. i have tried using all these input options but the curve will not come in with the correct direction. is there something i am missing?

"Curve from end of object" will draw a curve that is tangent to the object you are starting from.

If you have a legal with a chord bearing, it may not be a tangent curve. If that's what's happening, you should be able to draw the arc by drawing in the chord using "line by bearing and distance", and then using that to draw your arc.

BTW, where did you find the "Curve from end of object" command? I haven't been able to find that command, and had assumed it was missing from C3D. Are you using 2008?

Thanks.

I am actually using 2006. It is in my LAND menu under lines/curves.

then maybe the Land Desktop discussion group would be a better place to ask
your question.
