I've had this same issue over the past few versions. My description writer regularly doesn't recognize tangent curves and returns the description for a non-tangent even when using an alignment (no warning symbols for non-tangency). My best guess is that somewhere there is an if/then for tangency that has the precision set way out in the decimals beyond what is practical. Does anyone know which .xsl file contains that variable control?
so, on closer inspection - it looks like this is only happening on reverse curves. Rather than using the "reverse curve" variable, it's calling a tangent reverse curve a regular non-tangent curve. Still frustrating but this doesn't come up as often as the previous issue.
