depth on profiles to dragged state

I've got a depth label on my profile that I'm trying to convert to a
dragged state. When I click on the label, I see three nodes, at the
endpoints and at the end. If I drag the middle node (which is what I
would expect would turn the text into a dragged state), it just moves
the line.

How can I fix this?

We're having the same issue at our company. The style shows settings for a dragged state but we can't find the appropriate grip or option. Has anyone else encountered this?

Select the label using CTRL-Click, then it will be 'draggable'.

I believe both of us are referring to how other label styles can automatically add leaders on c3d labels. They're controlled by the "dragged state" tab in the style. Unless there is a variable I'm overlooking when I "ctrl+click" the label it just copies the profile view depth label (C3D 2014) - It also doesn't have the same grip that you can normally select to convert it to a dragged state.

I would very much like to use this function as well. Is there any solution on this matter? Thanks!

Kinda, sortta, maybe...

As close as I can get:

  • Profile View Depth Labels do not support a dragged state.
  • Create a Profile View Depth Label Style
  • Depth Component: Anchor Point: Middle Extension
  • Place the label, select the label, Label Properties: set Dimension Anchor Value to 1 (or any non zero value)
  • The label will shift and you can see the label anchor.
  •  You can now select the label anchor and drag up or down. This is a limited dragged state.
