DELTA SYMBOL - VERTICAL DIFFERENCE FOR ANNOTATION

When labeling feature lines we would like to have an option under content properties so that not only can i see the grade/slope of the line but also the vertical difference.

End result will be that I label a line with a style that contains the slope above the line and also the vertical difference (delta) below the line.

Thanks.

Hi Darrell,

Thanks for posting your question. Are you posting this for one of the Autodesk Desktop products, maybe Civil 3D? If so let me know and we can move your post to that forum.

Thanks again for posting to the A360 Drive forum.

Create an expression, End Z - Start Z. Add the expression to your label style.

HI Jeff,

Thanks for the replies.

I attached a screen shot of the label editor and the result of the available expressions.

How can I have the label perform the subtraction function? As I see it only displays certain properties that are available...I tried placing the start Z and end Z in a parenthesis, separated by the minus sign, but the label does not compute the two elevations. The label is only displaying the 2 elevations in a parenthisis and separtaed by a dash.

Where can I create an expression that will perform any math functions if we feed it the proper variables? Is that expression able to be inserted in the label style?

Thank You,

DK

Create an expression in the Exprssions branch of the Line segemnt label styles:

Now it can be used in the Label Style Editor:

1-23-2015 8-13-21 AM.png

And the result:

When I punch this in, I get a pop-up error : "undefined property"

Do I need to add this value into available properties somewhere?
