I've been using the standard "\U+0394" in Civil 3d for years to insert the delta symbol, but wanted to determine how to do it in Windows. I've found plenty of how-to's on the web, but they seem to be for XP, not Windows 7. These include Alt+0394 and Δ neither of which work in Word or Outlook. BTW, I'm not interested in the filled symbol, just the open one.
Anybody know a way to do this?
Thanks

It took me posting the question before the solution presented itself.
For Windows applications, use
0394 then Alt+
Works in Word and Outlook.
I apologize for the confusion - I left out an important key stroke for the Windows portion.
For getting the delta symbol in Word, Outlook, etc. type:
0394 then "Alt" and "x" together.
You can also get this symbol by going to the ribbon - "Insert" --> "Symbols" and scrolling. At the bottom of the dialoque, you will see the shortcut keys.
