Data Shortcuts remain Broken

Data shortcuts are broken after re-entering a drawing containing data
refernences. Doesn't seem like the shortcut links are being saved with
the drawing. I'm following the instructions as per Angel Esponiza's blog

They arent broken, this is the same way they behaved in 2006 if you were not
using a project environment.

If they are not broken, then what is this?

If you go to the data shortcuts menu and tell the software where the xml
file is again the broken message will clear. But you have to do this every
single time you open the file. Which is the same way they behaved in 2006
if you were not using a project with datashortcuts.

That stinks!!! Especially for us users who do not want to move to Vault.
Thanks for the info. though. Hey, where's the "King of Workarounds"?

I would like this issue to be resolved as well. No plan on using vault anytime soon but would still like to use shortcuts efficiently. One question about showing the location of the xml. I am using the project management in 06, did not use short cuts otherwise, if I have 30 alignments in a drawing, do I need to show the xml location for all 30 or just do it one time? I can live with once but 30 times if rediculous considering the amount of crashes experience. thanks for the help.

I just tried this with multiple surfaces. You create a Data Shortcut for
each object then export to a single XML.
