dashed text

Sorry again if this is a relativly dumb question....

I am trying to make a dashed linetype and I make a line type that is dashed and then make a text style that uses that line type, however it doesnt dash my text, I have tried changing my ltscale with no avail. I use a screened plot color but would also like it dashed. Any suggestions would be helpful....

Thank you

AFAIK Text won't honor Linetypes but merely use the font composition for display.

There are several Dot and Dash Font shx files available.

The txtexp command will make lines from text that can be converted to plines with mpedit

Folder containing the dotfont.shx must be mapped in options.

Options>Files Tab>Support Files search path.

You can find the location of your existing fonts here, look for a ...\fonts\ folder.

(click "ADD" button on right to add a folder location)

Ideally it would be placed where all fonts are kept on a server so your coworkers can access it.

(This is how we mange it, we have a "corporate" fonts folder that is mapped in all arg profiles.)

Last resort it could be placed in a folder by itself and as long as it's mapped in the support file search path it will work.
